A year after giving birth to my second child I attended a health check-up, at which my weight was measured. All I can say is I was traumatised. I have been quite heavy my whole life, but that was a wake up call that I had to do something about my weight – not just for me, but my kids too.
I decided to try the Stone Age Diet and I’m glad I did because it’s shown me that it doesn’t take much effort to make healthy choices. I’ve been doing it for 4 months now and I’ve lost 2 stone – and it’s been pretty easy. But it’s not just weight that I’ve lost thanks to the diet, my skin is so much better – no acne anymore.
I feel like a new person now. I was only 29 and weighed 19 stone and I was always exhausted – physically and mentally. I was so embarrassed by my weight, and it got to the stage that I was really depressed. I’ve tried so many different diets over the years and I just couldn’t stick to any of them for more than two weeks – and then I was straight back on the crisps, cakes and chocolate.
A friend recommended I try the Stone Age Diet. I have to admit I did think it was a bit unusual at first, but my weight just burned off, plus my energy levels are through the roof. Best of all my depression has gone.
This summer, for the first time since I was a teenager, I was happy to wear a bikini at the beach, swimming with my friends. Without the Stone Age Diet that would never have happened. I’ve now got the body I want, and it’s how I want to be for the rest of my life. Now I will happily pose for photographs.
Thanks to the Stone Age Diet I no longer have food cravings throughout the day, and I’m no longer constantly snacking. I’m now eating healthy meals that I cook myself. My mindset and with it my relationship with food has completely changed. Now if I’m offered chocolate ice cream or box of chocolates I can easily say “no”.
